Vancouver Sun -- Oil, it's political

"As our CEO, Patrick Daniel, has said - Northern Gateway is Canada's energy crossroads," which would give Canada the opportunity to export oil to half the world's population (instead of just the United States). 

That brings us to the prospect of shipping oil off B.C.'s coast, which is again a non-starter for the environmental community, which used this week's one-year anniversary of BP's Gulf Coast disaster to raise the specter of the project's oil-spill risk.

The environmental group Forest Ethics was responsible for that criticism of the spill response plan that Enbridge has put forward with its application to the National Energy Board for approval of the project. The Forest Ethics press release is here.
