Aaron Sanger joined ForestEthics in 2000, after practicing law for 20 years in the Austin, Texas, area. He represented individuals and small businesses harmed by large corporations. In one of his biggest cases, Aaron represented people from several low-income neighborhoods in Austin, where Big Oil had located storage facilities. These neighborhoods suffered groundwater contamination, air pollution and rare cancers caused by the long-term effects of the fuel storage ‘tank farm’. In 1999, he decided to become a full-time environmental campaign organizer, and now serves as Director of US Campaigns with ForestEthics.
Aaron and his wife own and manage a small business, Living Earth Herbs. Located in Bellingham, Washington’s Public Market, it specializes in organic herbal remedies. In his spare time, Aaron is a songwriter and singer and can be found charming Bellingham audiences at open mic nights around the town.
