BC Parks celebrated its 100th anniversary March 1st. However, according to the Auditor General in their 2010 report Conservation of Ecological Integrity in B.C. Parks and Protected Areas, there is little reason to celebrate. To commemorate the occasion, ForestEthics and environmental groups are calling on the BC government to take steps to prioritize the ecological integrity of our parks and protected areas. Ads were placed in The Province and Victoria's Times Colonist earlier this week.

Let’s hope that under the new Liberal leadership, the Ministry of Environment parks staff will be adequately resourced so they can complete and implement a visionary Conservation Management Program for our parks and protected areas.
