At ForestEthics, we know life is complicated – sometimes it helps to break things down to the bare essentials: Air. Water. Wildlife. Health. A stable climate. Forests clean our air, purify our water, provide habitats for wildlife, and give the core ingredients in medicines that literally save our lives. They’re also teeming with animals, insects, and plants.

If you want to save the world, forests are a great place to start. And if you want to find one of the best organizations for the job, you’re in the right place. ForestEthics' strategies are always a step ahead, and our results speak for themselves: we’ve secured protection agreements for 65 million acres of forests; we’ve helped to move millions of dollars of corporate buying towards environmentally responsible market solutions and we’ve influenced the environmental practices of more than 100 major US companies. We’ve achieved this tremendous success in the US and Canada with the support of people like you.

Shifting the buying power of Fortune 500 companies like Dell, Staples, Office Depot, Victoria’s Secret, Williams-Sonoma, and many others creates leverage and helps us to achieve lasting protection for endangered forests and wild places.

Sometimes we have worked collaboratively with government and companies to legislate permanent protection and sometimes it has required strategic pressure campaigns. Since 2012, we’ve been squarely in the crosshairs of the Canadian government’s unprecedented crackdown to intimidate and silence environmental advocates. While being singled out and targeted in this way is very challenging, it also speaks to the efficacy of our work.

In response to the crackdown, our Canadian staff created two independent nonprofit entities in Canada in 2012, ForestEthics Solutions and ForestEthics Advocacy.

ForestEthics Solutions continues to craft and steward world-renown environmental solutions such as the Great Bear Rainforest Agreements and the Canadian Boreal Forest Agreement.

ForestEthics Advocacy is able to devote an unlimited amount of its time and resources to environmental advocacy, to ensure that destructive projects and weakened environmental laws are vigorously and successfully opposed.

Right now, our coalition organizations are working to protect forests and wild places in Canada and the US. Sometimes that work includes pressuring the government of Ontario, sometimes it means negotiating in corporate boardrooms, and sometimes we’re protesting in front of brand-name businesses in your hometown.

If you’re interested in protecting endangered forests and wild places, human well being and wildlife, then you’re in the right spot.

Welcome to ForestEthics,
