It seems like every time you turn on the TV anywhere in Canada you see Economic Action Plan ads talking about “responsible resource development”. With the recent Mount Polley mine disaster in British Columbia and the recent Transportation Safety Board (TSB) reports on the Lac-Mégantic Quebec rail tragedy last year this rhetoric comes into sharper focus. It’s hard to look at the reality in Canada today without asking yourself just what is "Responsible Resource Development" anyway? What does it really mean?
